About Star Micro Insurance!
In August 2008, Star Microinsurance Services Ltd was incorporated as an independent agency to collaborate with Star Assurance Company Ltd and StarLife Assurance Company Ltd both the fourth largest General and Life Insurance companies respectively in Ghana.
This collaboration was to achieve the two companies’ vision of providing social services to meet and satisfy the changing financial needs of the insuring public and cater for the insurance needs of the low-income earners. Star Microinsurance’s strategic objectives complement the government of Ghana’s effort in providing social protection for its people.
Star Microinsurance Services is dedicated to serving low-income households with an affordable and suitable range of microinsurance products. We are responsible for the design of microinsurance products that suit the needs of our target market, the distribution of the products, as well as the back office administration.
Star Microinsurance Services has approximately 550,000 clients, distributes its products through the markets in the Greater Accra, Kumasi, Akwatia, Asamankese etc. We work together with other partners.

SOLOMON LARBEY
ACTING CHIEF EXECUTIVE OFFICER
He holds a CII Cert from the Chartered Insurance Institute, UK. An advanced diploma certificate from Ghana Insurance College/Malta International Institute. He has Masters in Business Administration (Human Resource) from Wisconsin International University College, Ghana. BA (Hons) Economics and Political Science from the University of Ghana, Legon. He also holds a certificate in administration and management from the graduate school of governance and leadership. He has 17 years of experience in life assurance. He has attended a number of conferences and short courses. He is a member of The Microinsurance Technical Committee of GIA. Prior to joining Star Micro, Mr. Larbey was the Assistant Head, Retail Operations at Vanguard Life Assurance Co. Ltd.

HEAD, HUMAN RESOURCE
Ms. Gyamfuah holds Masters Degree in Strategic Management and Leadership (MSc.) from Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology (KNUST), a Bsc. in Business Administration at the University of Professional Studies, Accra, and a Higher National Diploma in secretary ship and Management Studies from Accra Technical University. She has attended a number of HR training and conferences, worked at the Business Centre at Accra City Hotel, and has been with Star Micro since 2011.

AG. HEAD, INTERNAL AUDIT
Mr. Yussif Suleman is the Ag. Head, Internal Audit. He holds Masters in Accounting and Finance (MSc) and BSc in Business Administration (Accounting) from Kwame Nkrumah University Of Science and Technology (KNUST). He also attended the chartered institute of financial and investment analysis (CIPIAG), currently a student of the Institute of Chartered Accountants, Ghana.
JOANA NAA KORKOI HESSE
HEAD, OPERATIONS
Joana Korkoi Hesse is the Head of Operations. She is a graduate of the Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology with a B.A in Economics. She has served in various capacities within the Operations department since joining the company in 2013. She manages the Claims, Premium Administration, and Underwriting Units of the Company. Her passion is to achieve excellence in whatever task or role she is assigned.

HEAD, BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
Mr. Dey Reuben is the Head of Business Development of the Company. He has more than ten years’ experience in Insurance and holds a Diploma in Insurance, Ghana Insurance College (Malta). He holds a Certificate in Insurance (ASCII), Chartered Institute of Insurance (UK). He also holds a B.A. degree in Psychology and Linguistics from the University of Ghana (Legon). Prior to his appointment, he has been in charge of Operations and has also worked in the Marketing and Sales Department.
MATILDA JEHU-APPIAH
HEAD, ACCOUNTS
She is a member of the Association of Chartered Certified Accounts (ACCA). She also holds a Bachelor of Science Degree in Business Administration (Accounting Option) from Central University. Prior to joining Star Microinsurance Services Ltd, she was an Accounts Assistant at Sanita Consumer Products Limited in Tema.
ANTHONY KODUAH-BEDIAKO
HEAD, RETAIL BUSINESS
Mr. Koduah-Bediako is the Head, Retail Business. He is a Chartered Banker from the Chartered Institute of Bankers, Ghana, he holds an MBA in Finance from the Methodist University College and BSc. Banking and Finance from Kings University College.
